The Youth, Children &
Family Ministry will be responsible for the following activities:
- Appoint
a Youth Committee responsible for a program for school grades first
through twelve, with the committee consisting of five members: the Youth
Director, or person so designated; four adults who are Communicant Members
(preferably one parent who has a child in Children's Ministry (1st-5th
grade), one parent who has a child in Junior Youth Ministry (6th-8th
grade), and one parent who has a child in Senior Youth Ministry (9th-12th
grade). The Youth Director, or person so designated, will act as committee
chair.
- Promote
the general Christian growth and fellowship through organized programs of
a non-curricular nature.
- Assume
the supervisory responsibility of all related auxiliary groups of the
Congregation, including Cradle Roll, Cub/Boy/Girl Scouts, Singles Ministry
and others that may be approved by the Leadership Team.
- Coordinate
Congregational fellowship activities.
- Plan
and schedule Christ-centered activities to build, strengthen, and enhance
family relationships of Congregation members, pre-school families, and for
families in the community.
- Provide
information concerning literature available to help strengthen families.
- Initiate
and maintain appropriate family support groups.
- Publicize
and promote family-oriented seminars and conferences in the Houston area.
- Assist
the Education and Early Childhood Learning Center Ministries in providing
materials, topics, and leaders for family-oriented Bible studies and
pre-school/kindergarten family seminars.
- Promote
and publicize a positive outlook and healthy concern for families using
various communication means.
- Provide
nursery coordination for worship services/other functions.
